Position Description

 

Position Title: District Wide Behavior Strategist

Department: Special Programs

Reports To: Director Of Special Programs

 

SUMMARY

The job of a Behavioral Strategist is to work with AEA and building MTSS teams

to develop intensive behavior and crisis plans to support our most significantly 

discrepant students. Behavior Strategist will work with students exhibiting

behavior issues such as escape, attention and/or physical aggression. Behavior

Strategist support will focus on students with high incident, high intensity

behaviors.  

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide behavior support for individual students with IEP behavior goals, in disability suspect or Tier 2 of the MTSS process
  • Review collected data to make recommendations for interventions
  • Model, demonstrate and provide feedback to teachers on implementing interventions
  • Collaborate with and establish positive working relationships with outside agencies
  • Instruct special education, general education teachers and associates to increase skill set related to the social, emotional, behavior and mental health needs of students
  • Ability and willingness to participate in long term district planning for addressing student social, emotional, behavior and mental health needs
  • Knowledgeable on current research and able to implement best practice strategies to support the social, emotional, behavior and mental health needs of students
